Livewire Contacts, Inc. ("Livewire Contacts") regards the privacy and security of member information as a critical component of the service that we offer to our members. The following information explains our information gathering and dissemination practices.

Registration

In order to use this website, a user must first complete the registration form. During registration a user is required to give their contact information such as name and email address. This information is used to contact the user about the services on our site for which they have expressed interest. It is optional for the user to provide demographic information, but encouraged so we can provide a more personalized experience on our site.

Payment

If the user subscribes to a paying account, we request information from the user. The user must provide financial information like credit card number and expiration date. This information is used for billing purposes. If we have trouble processing a payment, the contact information collected at registration is used to get in touch with the user.

Cookies

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. Once the user closes their browser, the cookie simply terminates. Log Files

We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Sharing

We currently do not share information gathered from log files or cookies with any partners. We may share aggregated demographic information with future partners. However, such information would not be linked to any personal information that can identify any individual user. Should we begin sharing aggregated demographic information, we will update this Privacy Policy alerting users to the changes.

We use a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

Livewire Contacts will only disclose personally identifiable data without a user's permission in the following limited circumstances: (1) if Livewire Contacts is required to do so by law, or (2) if Livewire Contacts has the good faith belief that such action is necessary to conform to applicable laws or comply with legal process served on Livewire Contacts, or to protect and defend the rights or property of Livewire Contacts or to enforce the Terms of Service.

Surveys & Contests

From time-to-time our site may request information from users via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code, age level). Contact information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site.

Tell-A-Friend

If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our site, we ask them for the friend's name and email address. LiveWire Contacts will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the site. LiveWire Contacts stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email. The friend may contact LiveWire Contacts at removefriend@livewirecontacts.com to request the removal of this information.

Security

In an effort to offer the most secure environment, Livewire Contacts gives users the option to register and login using SSL (secure sockets layer) encryption technology, the industry standard for secure transactions. All of our employees are dedicated to maintaining and upholding users' privacy and security and are aware of our privacy and security policies. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect users' personal information, Livewire Contacts cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information a user transmits to us from our online products or services, and a users does so at their own risk. Once we receive a user's transmission, we make our best efforts to ensure its security on our systems. This website takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, information is protected both online and off-line. When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number and/or social security number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry - 128-bit SSL encryption. While on a secure page the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when users are just 'surfing'. Password Protection

Inadequate or easy-to-guess passwords are one of the main security problems faced by Internet services. However, improving the security of passwords means using long and random passwords, which users often find difficult to remember. Our policy is that we do not force users to use difficult-to-remember passwords, but instead allow them to update their password at any time.

Shared Contacts

For certain accounts Livewire Contacts provides a directory, similar to a telephone directory, where users may search for contacts supplied by other users. Each user determines which contacts, if any, he or she wishes to post in the directory by marking the contact as a "Shared Contact" For more information on Shared Contacts, please see our Help section.

Site and Service Updates

We send the user site and service announcement updates. Members are not able to un-subscribe from service announcements, which contain important information about the service. We communicate with the user to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account via email or phone.

Correcting/Updating Personal Information

If a user's personally identifiable information changes (such as a zip code), or if a user no longer desires our service, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update or remove that user's personal data provided to us. This can usually be done using the account management functions of a user's account or by emailing our Customer Support (support@livewirecontacts.com ).

Choice/Opt-out/Discontinue

Livewire Contacts does not use user information for purposes not directly related to our site. Should this practice change, users will have the opportunity to 'opt-out.' If a user does not wish to receive promotional materials from our partners, they may opt-out of receiving these communications by replying with unsubscribe in the subject line in the email or email us at remove@livewirecontacts.com. Users of our site are always notified when their information is being collected by any outside parties. We do this so that users can make an informed choice as to whether or not they should proceed with services that require an outside party.

To discontinue use of our service, users should send an e-mail to discontinue@livewirecontacts.com with the Username and E-mail address.

Notification of Changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our Homepage so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email.
